Thailand Based Blues Bands
Cannonball. Newest on the Bangkok blues scene, this band features a group of expats who put a fine groove spin on their original blues tunes.
Mekong Doctor Blues & The Groove Junkies. One of the original pioneers of blues jams in Bangkok, Doctor Blues has at various times featured some of the best local bluesmen in his Groove Junkies. And a fine groove it is too!!
Definitely worth going out of your way for is the Georgia Blues Bandplaying at Ad Here the 13th close to Banglampoo intersection, near Bangkok's Khao Sarn Road.

Stevie Ray Vaughan. I will not try to say what others have probably said better already. Suffice to say that SRV is an all-time inspiration and one of my absolute favorites. There are many sites dedicated to Stevie, but start with this one and decide for yourself.

Humble Mike.Keepin' the blues alive in Beijing of all places, "Humble Mike" is one killer harp player and blues musician who joined the 'Dogs' for a series of sessions at The Warbler in July 2002. Check him out if you're up that way.
Better off Dead.Playing their own brand of Rockabilly style blues out of New York, Better off Dead frontman, VD King was jamming with the 'Dogs' in Bangkok during Jan. '03.

Tokyo Joe's Blues Bar primarily showcases acoustic and electric blues, but also features soul and R&B regularly with jazz every Saturday and the World Famous in Bangkok and Beyond Jam Session on Sundays. For genuine blues in Bangkok, look no further.
The Godfather of local blues bands, "Odie Blues", resides on White Sand Beach, Koh Chang. Down Phuket way, Tony "Chainsaw" Wilson is buzzing around that island paradise. Yoonique Stone Music Cafe has a Tuesday Jam

Curtis King. Keeps the blues alive and well in Singapore and Vietnam. Catch Curtis and his big band sound if you happen to be in the same city.
Coco Blues, on Chaweng Beach in Samui, features live music nightly, focusing mainly on blues. A blues haven in paradise.......
The Human Development Foundation's Mercy Centre established and run by Father Joe Maier. Soi Dog Blues Band organizes and plays two concerts per year in aid of children affected by HIV/AIDS cared for by the HDF Mercy Centre.

Magic Frankie. Based in Holland, the Magic Man is one of the top blues guitarists and performers in Europe. A friend of B.B. King, they are on stage together whenever B.B. is touring Europe.
